Mr. Desmond is currently our President, and prior to April 2020, was our President and Chief Operating Officer since May 20, 2011. Before that, Mr. Desmond was our Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since January 1, 2009, our District General Manager responsible for our Los Angeles, Los Angeles Plate, Hayward, and Phoenix operations since 2001. Prior to that Mr. Desmond was General Manager of our Charlotte facility since 1995, our Denver facility since 1993, and various other managerial responsibilities since joining the company in Los Angeles in 1981.
VP & Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Leon has been our Vice President, Chief Financial Officer since October 1, 2008. Before that, Mr. Leon was our Corporate Controller since August 2004, responsible for the accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Prior to that, Mr. Leon held various financial and accounting management positions with several distribution-related companies. Mr. Leon is a certified public accountant and began his career at KPMG.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Klose was promoted to Chief Operating Officer as of April, 2020. Prior to that, he was Regional Vice President of the Midwest region responsible for Quad Cities, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Kansas City. Before that he was General Manager and District Sales Manager of Chicago since 2012. Prior to that he was General Manager of the Quad Cities since 2009, and he held various sales and managerial positions in Minneapolis since joining the company in Los Angeles in 1986.
VP Eastern Region
Mr. Ghoens was promoted to Vice President Eastern Region on January 1, 2012, responsible for our Boston, Hartford, Philadelphia, Richmond, Charlotte, Greensboro, Orlando, Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis and St. Louis operations. Before that, Mr. Ghoens was District Manager of our Philadelphia, Boston and Hartford operations since 2006, and District Manager of Philadelphia since 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Ghoens was General Sales Manager of our Philadelphia facility since 2004, General Sales Manager of Charlotte since 2001, and various sales and managerial positions since joining the company in Charlotte in 1993.
VP Southern Region
Mr. King was promoted to Vice President Southern Region on January 1, 2012, responsible for our Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Rochester, Tulsa, Dallas, Houston, Lafayette and Malaysia facilities. Before that Mr. King served as District Manager of Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Rochester NY since 2008, Cleveland and Rochester since 2006, our St. Louis facility since 1999, General Manager of Cleveland Plate since 1996 and various sales and operational positions since joining the company in Cleveland in 1987.
VP Western Region
Mr. Roy was promoted to Vice President Western Region on January 1, 2012, responsible for Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Hayward, Phoenix, and Denver. Before that, Mr. Roy was District Manager of our Los Angeles District responsible for our Los Angeles, Hayward and Phoenix operations since 2009, General Manager of Los Angeles since 1996, and various sales and operations positions since joining the company in Los Angeles in 1983
Mr. Lane was promoted to Vice President Merchandising on January 1, 2019. Before that Mr. Lane served as District General Manager of Charlotte, Richmond, Orlando, and Steel Bar facilities since 2012. Prior to that Mr. Lane was General Sales Manager of Charlotte, Richmond, and Orlando facilities since 2006 and Memphis and Little Rock since 2000, Sales Manager of St. Louis since 1998, and held various sales positions in Houston since joining the company in 1993.
